The city of Williamsburg has a great deal to offer culturally, despite being rather small in population. This culture revolves mostly around the College of Williams and Mary, which is one of the oldest higher learning institutes in the nation. Other attractions that influence the city's culture are Virginia's First Capitol Building, WilliamsburgBotanical Garden and the Governor's Palace.

History
Colonial Williamsburg is the main focus of history within the city of Williamsburg. An authentic early American village that shows how early settlers lived and worked the land, this recreation site contains famous historic buildings and interpreters clothed in period garb. Other historical sites in the city include the College of Williams and Mary and the De Witt Wallace Decorative Arts Museum.
